Riverside Contemporary New Build

Set back from the Thames river front, this tired 70’s property will be replaced with this stunning contemporary and sustainable new build. Designed to open up to both the river front and the countryside, this house will elevated on to a plinth to avoid any flood risk. The plinth will then be cleverly disguised by an integrated soft landscape scheme.

Location: Thames river front in Taplow, Buckinghamshire

Materials: Soft brickwork will provide thermal mass and will be combined with super insulated timber framework and cladding. Slimline aluminium glazing is located strategically to open up to views and provide access to garden entertaining areas

Clever aspects: This project is on a fantastic plot and so is all about the connection with the landscape. The emphasis is on a highly sustainable building, designed to Passivhaus principles.

We love: The way that this building sits in the landscape and connects to it. The doors can be thrown open in summer and there will be a seamless connection allowing true indoor/outdoor living.
